Scaling New Heights for Magic Breakfast: Hannah’s Mount Toubkal Challenge

Our partner’s Liverpool Director, Hannah, recently embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, scaling Mount Toubkal in Morocco with Altitude Trekking, all in support of Magic Breakfast.

About the Challenge

Standing at 4,167 metres, Mount Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa and it is no easy undertaking. The ascent is a true physical test, involving steep, rocky terrain, high altitude conditions and unpredictable mountain weather. As climbers gain altitude, the air thins and temperatures can drop sharply, making every step to the summit a genuine achievement. The trek typically spans two days, with climbers spending a night at a high altitude refuge before making the final push to the top in the early hours of the morning, often in darkness, to reach the summit at sunrise. The reward? Breathtaking, panoramic views stretching across the Atlas Mountains and beyond that make every aching muscle completely worthwhile.

Despite the challenge, no mountaineering experience is required, which makes Hannah’s determination to take it on, all while raising money for a cause close to our hearts, even more impressive.

Highlights of the Trek

Alongside conquering the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa, Hannah had the opportunity to explore the stunning Berber Valley, immersing herself in the local culture, lifestyle and traditions, before taking in the vibrant sights of the Red City of Marrakech.

Why Magic Breakfast?

We believe that every child deserves a nutritious, stigma-free breakfast to start their day, and we are committed to making this a reality for as many children as possible. That’s why our partners are working with Magic Breakfast to fund 1 million breakfasts, and every challenge our team takes on brings us one step closer to that goal.

Hannah’s incredible effort is a testament to the dedication across The Classroom Partnership to making a real difference in children’s lives. We are incredibly proud of her!
